What is a Christian Creed?

Mr. Klavan makes an interesting observation in the following quote.

“Because the philosophy underlying the American founding is a tolerant one — because, that is, it grows out of a Christian worldview — America tends to expand its zones of tolerance over time. That’s how underlying philosophies work: they slowly challenge a society to live out the meaning of its creed.” (Andrew Klavan)

Unbelievers understand the Christian creed and cleverly elevated tolerance to a level of new importance. There are any numbers of programs, and laws relating to tolerance; all of them use tolerance as a hammer to enforce acceptance of deviant behavior…not the values of Christianity. Why such a focus on the word tolerance when the Christian ethic already had every value that the world needed?

The unbeliever was not interested in tolerance; in fact they were interested in the exact opposite of tolerance. They wanted a new norm and they knew that Christians would not accept deviant behavior as the norm. Therefore they used a false equality of freedom for all. Their definition of free choice was the freedom to choose any value as long as you accepted the values of the unbeliever and allowed the unbeliever to teach your children those same values.

The choice for decades has been tolerance at the expense of the God of the Bible. Now God is demonstrating the cost of any value is of no value at all. Look at our families, our children, our schools, and our government; all valueless because they are godless.

Will we live out the real Christian creed of tolerance: the tolerance that says we love you but we will not tolerate sin, or the godless creed of tolerance that screams that we must also tolerate sin? When someone demands that we should love them, our answer is that we already love you this is why we are sharing with you the Gospel message.
