One of the principles set forth in Scripture is that the spiritual battle against the forces of evil must be won before victory will ensue against human forces. In Canaanite mythology Baal was the god of fertility who was in charge of the Jordan River, providing nourishment for the land of Palestine. When the Ark of the Covenant touched the Jordan River it began to dry up (Josh 3:13–17)? What was the spiritual victory that Jesus won for his people and the consequent application to human beings?
Jesus came to defeat those same powers and principalities and He did so by the words of scripture and prayer. Prayer and scripture are the elements of victory for every family of believers.
When the spiritual battle in our life is won; we receive victory in our everyday life. What does it look like?
Php 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
