Those that seek wisdom must understand that there is a profound difference in the wisdom from above and worldly wisdom. Let me tell you how the Bible speaks to you.

First the Bible tells you that the Universe was established by wisdom.

Je 51:15 “It is he who made the earth by his power, who established the world by his wisdom, and by his understanding stretched out the heavens.

The Universe was established by God’s Word…God spoke everything into existence.

Heb 11:3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

Not only did God speak the Universe into existence, Wisdom now holds all things together.

Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Now for Heaven’s view of worldly wisdom.

1 Co 1:20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

God sees the wisdom of this world as foolish and God catches the wise in their craftiness.

1 Co 3:19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,”

The word crafty is the same one used of the serpent in the Garden of Eden.

Ge 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made…

Yes you do see great wisdom that is of this world. There is wisdom that brings fame and wealth. There is wisdom in science that has brought great comfort to mankind. Wisdom in ethics that have helped mankind chose rightly. But, notice God did not say worldly wisdom was worthless. God said it was folly and foolish. This is a great Biblical understanding if you are to see wisdom from Heavens point of view. All of this world’s wisdom is foolish and folly if you miss the wisdom of salvation. In fact, you cannot even be taught Biblically without God granting you the Holy Spirit to teach you.

God tells you to come and learn, but notice you must first hear God calling you, you next must trust God when He tells you there is no other name under Heaven by which you can be saved, and you then must abide in Christ to receive instruction that is of the Holy Spirit.

Ps 143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!

Jn 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.
