“When men cease to believe in God, they do not believe in nothing; they believe in anything.” G. K. Chesterton. This is a quote that I would like to modify just somewhat and it still stands as true. “When men cease to believe in the Bible, they do not believe in nothing; they believe in anything.”
The first quote is true for unbelievers because they deny God’s existence. The second quote is true for many of those in church because they deny the truths of scripture that trouble them.
The reason it still stands as true is that God and the Bible are one…this is called inerrancy.
