Surrender to the God of the Bible:

  1. The Bible tells us that to be able to approach God you must acknowledge that God exist.

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

  1. Surrender to self worth:

To be saved you must acknowledge that you are a sinner. Many people will even say I am going to burn in Hell. Yet they will not surrender their sinful life. Others set their own standard and believe they are good enough.

Ro 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Ro 3:12 All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”

  2. Surrender to Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sin:

Many people around the world acknowledge that there is a God and that they are sinful, and know the name of Jesus, they but will not surrender their life to Jesus Christ. Most will choose other gods.

Ac 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Ac 2:38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

  1. Surrender to self and become a servant to all:

Many people claim to believe in God, claim the name of Jesus Christ and call themselves Christians, but live only to themselves.

Ga 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Jas 2:18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. Jas 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! Jas 2:20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? Jas 2:22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works

Christianity calls for complete and total surrender:

  • First there is faith which is the surrender of your past to God.

Ro 5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Secondly there is salvation which is the surrender of your present to Jesus Christ.

Ac 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

  • Thirdly there is eternity which is the surrender of your future to the Holy Spirit.

2 Co 1:21 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 2 Co 1:22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

  • Fourth there are works which is the surrender of today to others as a servant in the Kingdom.

Ga 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Mt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…

Ro 10:14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

2 Co 4:5 For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

The surrender must be a total surrender, (past, present, future, and today) to God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Kingdom work.
