The Precision of God

In this quote, you can look into the telescope with Roger Penrose and hear his unbiased conclusions…in other words an honest scientist concerned with the discovery of Truth. Roger Penrose is not a Christian, in fact he does not believe in God. He is a self-described atheist. Here is an abbreviated biography of Mr. Penrose taken from Wikipedia.

Sir Roger Pinrose (born 8 August 1931), is an English mathematical physicist, mathematician and philosopher. He is the Emeritus Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics at the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford, as well as an Emeritus Fellow of Wadham College.

Penrose is known for his work in mathematical physics, in particular for his contributions to general relativity and cosmology. He has received a number of prizes and awards, including the 1988 Wolf Prize for physics, which he shared with Stephen Hawking for their contribution to our understanding of the universe.

Mr. Penrose believes that however the Universe was created, it took a precision that it is beyond the mathematical possibilities of it happening by chance.

Here is S. C. Meyer quoting Roger Penrose on the Big Bang Theory, the central claim of evolutionists as the cause of creation.

“The odds of arriving at a single correct setting by chance, let alone all the correct settings, turn out to be virtually infinitesimal. Oxford physicist Roger Penrose has noted that a single parameter, the so-called “original phase-space volume”, required such precise fine tuning that the “Creator’s aim must have been [precise] to an accuracy of one part in (which is ten billion multiplied by itself 123 times). Penrose goes on to remark that, “one could not possibly even write the number down in full … [since] it would be ‘1’ followed by 10123 successive ‘0’s!”—more zeros than the number of elementary particles in the entire universe. Such is, he concludes, “the precision needed to set the universe on its course”.[i]

Christians agree with the scientific approach of Mr. Penrose…letting facts dictate results regardless of well-entrenched evolutionary theories. Christianity is not anti-science. Christians also understand that without faith even Mr. Penrose will remain unconvinced of the God of the Bible, but we do honor his ability to tell the truth. This is not a man that lets a cartoon graphic artist decide his science or his faith as seen in the series “Cosmos” which I will review later in this section, and neither should Christians, especially young Christians. Mr. Penrose demonstrates that Christians have a better claim for creation than evolutionists. Christianity is not anti-science, rather evolutionist are anti-God.
