Here is an opportunity to take 1Tim3.16 and look to see if there is a structure to the verse that helps us understand the “mystery of Godliness”.

1Tim3.16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:

He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit,

seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world,

taken up in glory.

Here is a structure that shows that the “mystery of Godliness” is the entrance, presentation and enthronement of Jesus Christ as the one through which God is choosing to save the world.

1Tim3.16 Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of godliness:

Entrance: He was manifested in the flesh (Earthly)

                  vindicated by the Spirit, (Heavenly)

 Presentation: seen by angels, (Heavenly)

                        proclaimed among the nations (Earthly)

Enthronement: believed on in the world (Earthly)

              taken up in glory (Heavenly)
