Relativism is viewed as a necessary foundation for tolerance and tolerance is viewed as an absolute for human interaction in today’s world. This theory has great failure for life in general and there is no Biblical basis for this belief theory. Relativism as a foundation belief means that the lowest common denominator is the norm.
Tolerance is taught in our schools as truth through the belief system of moral relativity. Relativism is a fatally flawed foundation for tolerance, for it preserves the most basic evils. When each person and culture can decide values, the vilest person becomes the allowable benchmark, and therefore a reflection of the allowable benchmark for that culture. What a terrible belief system; yet this is taught every day in our schools under the wonderful theory that we all have to get along allowing each person to have their own values.
Truth is exclusive; it is the nature of truth. Something is either true or it is not and belief systems do not change the truth. Belief systems can have a flawed view of values, but not their own view of the truth. Truth is a standard that is woven into the very fiber of the universe by God and man has no input. Man can reject truth, but man cannot amend truth.
