What if God came to us in a dream and said that starting with the next morning we were going to have our life recorded in a book? History would know everything about us, even our shortcomings. God would breathe into the writer all that He wanted the world to know about us.

God would even have the writer remark on the thoughts of our heart such as our humility, pride, anger, envy, lust, as well as our grace and mercy for others. What if God said that He would even go so far as to expose exactly how much we loved Him? Whether we prayed as we said we would for the needs of others in their time of trouble, and if we really meant all that we committed.

Others could read if we followed all that we told our fellow believers about trusting God. There would be list of all our resources and how much of those resources were dedicated to the Kingdom.

What If our friends and neighbors were to read the book, would we be embarrassed? God knows and the Holy Spirit is grieved. There is a book, in fact there are a number of books recording all that God knows about us.

In the Old Testament, there is a Book of Remembrance, a Book of the Living, a Book of Truth, in the New Testament there is the Book of Life and there is God’s Book. I wonder how many such books are kept in Heaven?

Ps56.8 You have kept count of my tossings; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in your book?

Ps69.28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living; let them not be enrolled among the righteous.

Ps139.16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.

Dan.10.21 But I will tell you what is inscribed in the book of truth: there is none who contends by my side against these except Michael, your prince.

Mal3.16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord paid attention and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before him of those who feared the Lord and esteemed his name.

Phil4.3 Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women, who have labored side by side with me in the gospel together with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.
