Some people build their lives in strength and look for the strengths of others and hope for themselves and their fellow man. Some people have great weaknesses and look for weaknesses in others to justify their weakness. This is in fact the essence of the Gospel. God says that I will take your weakness and justify you in my strength; leading to hope for all. Satan says I will take your weakness and justify you in the common weakness of man, confirming hopelessness.
Psalm28.7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. 8 The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.
2Cor12.9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
1Peter1.3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In this you rejoice…
