Satan and Our Mind

It is not unusual for the average person to think that they are fairly smart. Most of us are educated enough to hold that opinion whether it is due to advanced education in academics or in life. Satan takes advantage of that consensus. He knows that is one of our greatest weaknesses and the Bible warns us be renewed in the knowledge of God every day. This is the only way we can be safe.

Satan is a liar and deceiver.

Jn 8:44 You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Re 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

The Bible tells us to be careful in our thinking.

2 Co 11:3 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Col 3:9 Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices Col 3:10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Ro 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Php 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
