A strange thing happened at my house this past Sunday, but strange is not the correct word…the correct word is fun. This past Sunday we stayed home from Church and worshipped together. My son had been away at a computer challenge and we just wanted to spend the worship together.
I had been working on a new song about that great old hymn “Amazing Grace”. Part of the arrangement incorporates some of the song and calls for both the singer and the audience to speak the second verse. We found that rapping the second verse is even more fun; so we spent Sunday worship rapping.
Here we are Monday and still laughing at our silly self for even attempting such a feat. I am sure that Heaven was having just as much fun as we were. There is a verse that comes to mind. 2 Sa 6:14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod. 2 Sa 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting and with the sound of the horn.
When David returned home his wife was not happy that he was so vigorous in his dancing and David replied that 2 Sa 6:22 I will make myself yet more contemptible than this, and I will be abased in your eyes. I am sure we were also quite a site on Sunday, but like David we sure had fun rapping with all our might.
