Proclaiming the Gospel and healing, both physical illnesses and mental illnesses [casting out demons], were the first two ministries of Jesus Christ. First the Gospel is proclaimed and then healing. The Gospel brings both peace and healing; there cannot be one without the other.
Mt 4:23 And he went throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom and healing every disease and every affliction among the people. Mt 4:24 So his fame spread throughout all Syria, and they brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases and pains, those oppressed by demons, epileptics, and paralytics, and he healed them.
Mk 1:14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
Mk 1:34 And he healed many who were sick with various diseases, and cast out many demons. And he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
Lk 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
Lk 4:40 Now when the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various diseases brought them to him, and he laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
