There is an interesting insight in the verses in Timothy. It is the fact that prayer for others improves our own life. By prayer we will lead a peaceful and quiet life.
1Tim2.1 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.
Christ said that I bring you my peace and I leave you my peace.
John14.27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
This is not true for the unbeliever. Christ said something entirely different in Matthew for the peace of the unbeliever.
Matt10.34 “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword.
This is but one of the many very precious blessings of belief and prayer.
