God set the laws of the universe such that all things would be held together. God set all of these laws for His purpose; for all things are for His purpose and that purpose is to demonstrate His glory. Prayer is one of the laws of the universe just as the Law of Gravity.

God invites us to affect all other laws through the Law of Prayer. Prayer is access into the throne room of Heaven in order that we may make a request. Though we do not often think about it, but many of our prayers are asking God to overrule one of His other laws of the universe. By asking, we are asking God to do a supernatural act. A supernatural act is by definition a miracle.

God can and will supersede a law of the universe in response to the cries of one of His saints. He can do so because prayer in itself is a law of the universe and God can easily set aside one law for another. What greater way to show God’s glory than for God to interact with His own laws in such a way that demonstrates His grace and mercy.

When prayer is put into its proper perspective, we can easily see the power that prayer possesses.
