Daniel Reading the Bible I have another report of someone that believes in the Bible. This person is Daniel from the story “Daniel in the Lion’s Den”. Daniel was a Jewish boy that was taken captive to Babylon. He was schooled to work in the Babylonian Government. He became a trusted advisor to the King. Here is an example in the Book of Daniel where Daniel literally believed the words in the Book of Jeremiah. Daniel also understood that the words in Jeremiah were the words of the Lord, not Jeremiah’s. God told Jeremiah that the Babylonian captivity was to be 70 years and Daniel knew that the 70 years were about up, so he acted upon what he had read. Daniel began a prayer of forgiveness for himself and his people. Here is the verse that tells this story. Daniel 9.1 In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, by descent a Mede, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans— 2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, perceived in the books the number of years that, according to the word of the LORD to Jeremiah the prophet, must pass before the end of the desolations of Jerusalem, namely, seventy years. 3 Then I turned my face to the Lord God, seeking him by prayer and pleas for mercy with fasting and sackcloth and ashes. Notice what Gabriel said to Daniel. Gabriel tells Daniel that in Heaven Daniel is “greatly loved”. Daniel9.23 At the beginning of your pleas for mercy a word went out, and I have come to tell it to you, for you are greatly loved. Therefore consider the word and understand the vision. Would we all not want to hear an Angel say that we are “greatly loved” in Heaven? This phrase is overwhelmingly beautiful. To be spoken of by God with these words is almost too much joy to comprehend. In the Book of Mark, we see children coming to Jesus and Jesus is touching them, holding them in His arms, and blessing them. Daniel was “greatly loved” and seen as a “precious treasure” because Daniel sought God, believed the words of his Bible, and lived his life based upon God’s word. Daniel is one of the few people in the Bible where there are no stories of any of Daniel’s failures. Daniel also maintained a praying relationship with God morning noon, and night. Daniel6.10b He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously. We are already loved, we are already considered precious, and we were sent a love letter. If you received a love letter, would you treasure it, and would you not consider every word true? Daniel received the same letter that we all received, and he treasured it and considered every word to be true…it was his Bible. Actionable Intelligence Another elite member of our team believed the Bible and lived his life by it. By believing the Bible, by living his life by the Bible, and by praying; Daniel completed the mission and found God.
