#293 Seven Times Jesus Described Heaven

I am Fred Myers the founder of For the Fathers Ministry, and this is Faith by the Numbers.

Count your way to wisdom in number two hundred ninety-three of this series, Seven Times Jesus Described Heaven.

Everyone wonders what heaven is like. Jesus used the phrase “the kingdom of Heaven is like” seven times and seven times only. All seven were recorded in the Book of Matthew. If Jesus told you what Heaven is like, this would certainly answer many questions.

Seven Times Jesus Described Heaven:

  1. The Kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed.
  2. The Kingdom of heaven is like leaven hidden in flour.
  3. The Kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.
  4. The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls.
  5. The Kingdom of heaven is like a net that gathers every kind of fish.
  6. The Kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house that brings out all his treasure.
  7. The Kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house that went out early to hire laborers.

These seven are all told within parables and these seven leave many ideas unclear because Jesus said He would teach the disciples in parables to hide the truth from the masses who had rejected Him. The parables do not so much describe the kingdom as teach a kingdom principal. The seven principals taught are one the kingdom would grow, two our life must grow and fill our life for the kingdom as yeast does for bread, three the kingdom is to be sought, four the kingdom is eternally valuable, five the kingdom will have people from every nation, six the kingdom is glorious, and seven, regardless of age at salvation all are given righteousness equally.

It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Mt 13:31 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field.

Mt 13:33 He told them another parable. “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven that a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, till it was all leavened.”

Mt 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.

Mt 13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls,

Mt 13:47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind.

Mt 13:52 And he said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house, who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.”

Mt 20:1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.
