Neither Myth nor Mystical

Too often I hear people talk about the Bible as if there is no standing proof of the facts that are related in the Bible. One of the most amazing things that stand as proof is that no archeological find has ever disputed a single fact of the Bible and this is a statement from an unbelieving archeologist.

The stories in the Bible are stories grounded in recorded history. The names of men in the Bible are in historical documents, and they are referred to as real figures in history. These are all simple and easy things to check out before someone states an unbelief in the Bible, yet many do not, thinking the Bible to be nothing more than a myth. Christianity is neither a myth nor mystical as told by Dan Story in this next quote.

Christianity is not a mystical religion, Christianity is an historic religion, and its truth-claims are grounded on objective, historical facts. When God came to earth as the incarnate Son, Jesus, He did so in a discernible way. Jesus was a physical man, and His deeds, including His resurrection, were witnessed by ordinary people (see 1 Cor. 15:6). His coming was not an event seen by a privileged few. His life and the documents that record and comment on it can be checked out by the normal methods of investigation.[1]
