My wife went to see a comedian that came to a local church. This comedian talked about a troubled childhood and struggles with the church. All of them were valid points. But the interesting thing is how God had turned a very troubled childhood into some wonderful work for His Kingdom.
Performing as the opening act were two young men that used some of their stage time to promote an organization that sponsored children in Africa. They were on a twelve show tour, and it was their hope that from twelve churches they could find 800 people to sponsor the children that they were trying to help. Last night was their last show, and before the show even began they had found sponsors from the previous eleven churches to sponsor all 800 children.
I thought about how through the comedian’s hurtful and troubled childhood; God was finding a way to reach many other children. Eight hundred children as lost and as hopeless as the comedian was as a young child.
Sin is a terrible thing, and in this fallen world we are all participants, but as saints and followers of Christ we see little glimpses of how it will someday be. It is important to pray for this comedian to find peace, and these young men to be successful. In Heavens eyes, we all are little children; little children helping little children to get home to our Father.
