It is Turtles all the Way Down

I once read a renowned scientist debunking the many different creation myths including the God of the bible. In one certain creation myth, he remarked how there was a culture that believed that the world rested on the back of a turtle. He went on to point out that one must ask what did that turtle rest on and of course it was another turtle; yes it was turtles all the way down he scoffed.

What of that scientist’s own creation myth? According to evolutionist, the universe began as a very small and dense object (singularity) that contained “time and space”, but in order to contain “time and space” it must take up “time and space”, and it cannot do both without first being something. The question now is how the something, “time and space” existed before the Big Bang…according to evolution nothing existed before the Big Bang. There was just a zero-void (a zero-void has no physical or material properties), and yet according to evolutionist all the laws of nature came from this zero-void.

Out of the Big Bang, “something from nothing”, we get an infinitely complex universe, and out of a zero-void, “something for nothing”, we get the beautiful symmetries in the laws of nature. This is the state of science today and a sad state it is.

When the scientist could no longer escape the obvious question of how something could come from nothing, they moved the bar. They now have a new theory; String Theory coupled with parallel universes. Our universe came from a parallel universe colliding with another parallel universe creating the Big Bang….and of course the universe that collided with ours came from one that collided with it. So you see it is still turtles all the way down.

The period before the Age of Enlightenment and science was known as the Dark Ages. We are in a new age, the Age of Misinformation. Scientist in the future will look back on the science of the last 50 years as a second self-imposed Dark Age of understanding. Oh yes there was understanding of processes of nature, but a complete void on the why, what, when, and who of the symmetries that make up the Laws of Nature. Especially how the Laws of Nature point to an almost mathematical certainty of a law giver, and God is certainly a good possibility.

In this second Dark Age of Misinformation, science has willing ignored and knowingly misstated the facts just to avoid God. Darwin, a former seminary student set about to refute God not to understand science for he was no scientist. Evolution has continued to stumble along blindly until it has become a religion in itself. Willful ignorance coupled with a zealousness for unproven facts that goes well beyond any religion. Yes according to the science of today, it is turtles all the way down…we have come this far just to go back to the myths of the ignorance of the Dark Ages.
