Seven Rules for Good Works

By Fred Myers

#319 Seven Rules for Good Works I am Fred Myers the founder of For the Fathers Ministry, and this is Faith by the Numbers. Count your way to wisdom in number three hundred nineteen of this series, Seven Rules for Good Works. Paul states that Christians should not only do good works but be zealous for good works. Good works in the Bible are defined as a duty. When we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, there is now a duty to serve others. In fact, every Christian was chosen for good works. Christians are God’s hands while here on earth. To be ready for these works, we need to follow Paul’s seven proscriptions that prepare us for good works. Seven Rules for Good Works: Be submissive to rulers, those in teaching positions. Be submissive to authorities, those in administrative positions. Be obedient to God’s word. Be ready to serve. Speak no evil of anyone whether among believers or unbelievers. Be gentle to all. Show courtesy toward all. I am a firm believer that whenever someone is joyfully doing the work of the Kingdom they are at that moment the closest they will ever be to knowing what heaven will be like. If you want to know what heaven will be like, put a smile on your face, gentleness in your heart, and zealously help another with a perfect courtesy to all people. I am Fred Myers, and this is Faith by the Numbers. It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.  Tt 2:14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works. Tt 3:1 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, Tt 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Tt 3:4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, Tt 3:5 he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, Tt 3:6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, Tt 3:7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Tt 3:8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. Phm 6 and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. (The word “share” in this verse is used as participation in both fellowship and deed/works.)
