The “New Age” philosophy states that God and nature are one. Even Christians have come to accept some of this thinking. The Bible tells us that nature does not participate in the essence of God. God created nature and stands apart and above nature as its creator.

New Age philosophy thinks that each of us enters into a relationship with nature to discover ourselves thereby finding our own inner peace. Christians enter into a relationship God on and rely on God for our salvation….for Christ is our peace.

Man has always sought by his own will that which brings peace, but there is no peace without God. Nature is not one with us and it is not one with God. Nature is a part of God’s creation and we are a part of that same creation. In fact, the Bible tells us that the universe as well as each of us awaits redemption.

Ro 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Ro 8:19 For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. Ro 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope Ro 8:21 that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Ro 8:22 For we know that the whole creation has been groaning together in the pains of childbirth until now. Ro 8:23 And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.

Nature is aware of God and relies upon God for redemption and each of should also.
