If the moral relativist (atheist) actually believes that there is no God and that all human interaction is guided by one’s own moral view, than why are the moral relativists not pursuing that belief to its fullest? With no God there is also no life after death, and therefore no punishment for sins; why not go all out. Why not pursue that belief to its full advantage.
It is certainly easier to cheat than put in effort? Why not lie in every circumstance that you could gain something. Why not sanction murder and achieve your own justice and gain? Atheist do not do it because they do not really believe that there is no God. The Bible tells us that everyone knows God exist.
The atheist could argue that we have laws to regulate these human interactions for the good of all; but that is a moral judgment… and it certainly goes counter to the absolute of moral relativism. This is why moral relativism is false on the face of the argument and falls on its own foundational statement.
A truth must be true at all time. Moral relativity fails when the relativist are intolerant of those that believe in absolute morals; the intolerance of another’s belief fails their test for relativity; therefore they fail their own test for truth. It further fails when they live their life not wanting this truth applied to their own human interactions…not with their children and not in their business affairs. They certainly do not allow their children to lie to them and they certainly fire anyone that lies, cheats, or steals in the workplace.
The moral relativist’s argument falls on its face today and they will fall on their knees one day before God.
Phil2:10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth – 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
