Each summer we start a new Bible study. Given that we have more time, the study must be a significant foundational step to Biblical understanding. The goal is to spend at least an hour a day. My son has gained 99 per cent of his understanding of the Bible from these summer studies.
This summer it is Genesis; last summer it was Revelation. Why Revelation first? It was his choice and God led...it was also great fun.
Genesis1.1 to 11.9 takes up about 2000 years, while Genesis11.10 to the end of Genesis covers about 193 years. The information contained in the first 2000 years is the stumbling stone for believers and unbelievers. Unbelievers mock while believers struggle.
All for naught and all because of modern teaching on evolution. A scientific belief that even the scientist don't believe anymore...they say so in their peer review papers, they just fail to change the text books. When they can find an explanation that disavows evolution without allowing the possibility of God, they will. They just haven't found it yet...string theory is the closest thing they have at this time.
The key to this section of the Bible and all of God's word is the first verse of the Bible. Genesis1.1 "In the beginning God created the Heavens and Earth"...seven words in the Hebrew language. Believe this verse exactly as it is written and you will have no trouble with the first 2000 years. With that beginning, believe the rest of the Bible exactly as it is written and you will have no trouble with the next approximately four thousand years.
