Paul has something to say about deception in Ephesians 4.11-13 Paul states deception is the very reason God gave you and your children Christian leaders. [Notice this list not only includes the leaders of today, but it also includes those of old who spoke on God’s behalf…the prophets…your Bible.] Paul tells you God did not want you or your children deceived; tossed to and fro and carried away by every wind of doctrine. Parents I want you to see your name on this list of leaders in Ephesians 4.11. Look closely, can you find yourself…teachers.
At the end of these next verses, Paul tells you why he is warning you…so you would not be deceived in human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Deception is a part of the “world system”. Make no mistake; this deception is powerful. You will need help and God is waiting.
Eph 4:11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, Eph 4:12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, Eph 4:13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, Eph 4:14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.
