The book of Job is considered to be the oldest book in the Bible by scholars. Not the first book, that is Genesis, but the oldest. Yet we read in this verse that Job already knew of writing and how it was done. Job lamented that his story should be written down and he wrote it…it is called the Book of Job.

Notice the last verse. It is one of the most well known verses in the Bible. Job stating a great prophecy...he knew that the Lord would return and stand upon the earth. Job knew that his story and this fact were important enough to write down. God moved him and empowered him to do so and every soul that has ever lived since Job has been blessed.

Job19.23 Oh that my words were written! Oh that they were inscribed in a book! 24    Oh that with an iron pen and lead they were engraved in the rock forever! 25    For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
