What Do You Know About Hell?
Everyone knows Heaven will be a place of love and serenity, but I want to ask you, what do you know about the Lake of Fire, and the Outer Darkness? I am sure you know there is no joy and no love. But, let me give you some of the verses. If you read this and it unsettles you, you must remember God wants you to be unsettled…unsettled enough to turn to Him. This gloom and doom is not a pleasant place.
Lake of Fire:
Re 20:10 and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Mt 25:30 And cast the worthless servant into the outer darkness. In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Today, by common grace, the full impact of evil is restrained by the work of the Holy Spirit.
2 Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
At judgment, God in His grace and mercy will separate evil from holy, and evil will go where evil will have no bounds. The Bible mentions a time when there was evil continually on Earth. At that time, God chose to destroy all mankind in a flood except for eight.
Ge 6:5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
In the Lake of Fire, and the Outer Darkness not a single remnant of love will exist. It will be evil continually . . . no one will have a friend.
The true description of the Outer Darkness, and the Lake of Fire is that love and peace will not exist. The essence of faith is that, by free will, each person must choose the love of God. God said if you do not choose Him, then you will have the evil you did choose. This is why the Outer Darkness has the description of weeping and the gnashing of teeth. When everyone who enters, realizes the love they knew on Earth, which was only a foretaste of heavenly love, is gone forever . . . what else could they do but weep forever? Weeping in such deep sadness and agony over such loss, they will gnash their teeth forever. This is why all of Heaven rejoices over the return of one lost sheep.
