#336 Seven Things About Living in Futility

I am Fred Myers the founder of For the Fathers Ministry, and this is Faith by the Numbers.

Count your way to wisdom in number three hundred thirty-six of this series, Seven Things About Living in Futility.

The Bible tells you that without God everything is futile. This is why we see such confusion in the world. The word “world” is used in the Bible five ways. When the Bible speaks of this world meaning the fallen world under Satan, it speaks of an age because Satan is the god of this world, but only for this age. The word “world” is taken from the Greek word “cosmos” with the meaning of a world system in evil confusion, and from the Greek word “cosmos”, we get the word “chaos”. God speaks of an evil system run by Satan for an age and all that participate in this system of chaos live their life in futility.

Seven Things About Living in Futility:

  1. Those without God live in the results of futile thinking.
  2. Futile thinking comes from futile minds.
  3. Even the thinking of the unbelieving wise is futile.
  4. A futile mind leads to a futile way of life.
  5. Everything under the sun is futile without God.
  6. After the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, creation was subject to futility.
  7. Jesus Christ was resurrected to end futility by providing forgiveness of sin and a way to renew our mind and put on the new self.

The dust bin of History is littered with one leader and one culture after the other trying to explain away God, only to do so in futility. Turn to God and find rest and peace in this world and the next.

I am Fred Myers, and this is Faith by the Numbers.

It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Ro 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Eph 4:17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds.

1 Co 3:20 and again, “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.”

1 Pe 1:18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold…

Ec 1:2 Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.

Ro 8:20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

1 Co 15:17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins.
