#62 Seven Things About a Successful Lie

I am Fred Myers, and this is Faith by the Numbers.

Count your way to wisdom in number sixty-two of this series, Seven Things About a Successful Lie.

The greatest failure of all mankind is to be unaware that the whole world is in deception, and that many of the things that mankind believes to be true is part of a very deceptive lie. In the argument over the truth, societies are divided, and failures find no remedy.

Seven Things About a Successful Lie:

  1. The biblical warning about deception is that a lie is only empty words.
  2. A successful lie is always told in a way that promises you a benefit.
  3. A successful lie is the lie that tells you what you want to hear. Liars know that you want to hear the easy answer to your own desires, not the truth.
  4. A successful lie must seem to be true. Therefore, Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
  5. People believe a lie because it gives them an excuse for their desires. When God gave a command to Adam and Eve for their good, Satan gave them a plausible excuse for their desires.
  6. A successful lie always has a self-righteous claim.
  7. The personal result of a lie is to deceive you out of your blessings from God, and this is the aim of Satan…to separate you from God. The first time the word “deceit” is used in the Bible, a blessing was lost.

Every Christian needs to examine their worldly belief system to see if it agrees with God. What you want to be the truth is not always the truth. In every age, the accepted truth was not as they thought. A lie steals your blessing, and God wants you to know the truth and be blessed.

It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Col 2:4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with plausible arguments.

Jn 8:44b When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

2 Co 11:14 And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.

Ge 3:3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” Ge 3:4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.

Ge 3:5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

Ge 27:35 But he said, “Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.”
