#38 Seven Calamities for the Unrighteous
I am Fred Myers the founder of For the Fathers Ministry, and this is Faith by the Numbers.
Count your way to wisdom in number thirty-eight of this series, Seven Calamities for the Unrighteous.
What will “the day of the Lord” be like for the unrighteous? You can see from the descriptions in the Bible that it will be very different for two groups…the righteous and the unrighteous. Even though all mankind will be feeble, and hearts will melt before the living God, the destruction is reserved for the unrighteous. Those that are unbelievers on “the day of the Lord” are those that did not seek forgiveness in Jesus while living. Unforgiven, they stand for their sin on that day.
Seven Calamities for the Unrighteous:
- There will be destruction
- They will be dismayed
- They will have pangs
- They will be in agony
- They will be in anguish
- They will look aghast
- They will have faces aflame
Some want to speak against God for these types of teachings in the Bible, but they must understand that God is being gracious and merciful to warn everyone. God wants you to be distressed and turn and seek the forgiveness of your sin. God must uphold His holiness, and it is God’s wrath that upholds His holiness. But, never lose sight that God loves you so much that He gave his only begotten Son that you might have peace on judgment day.

It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Is 13:6 Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; as destruction from the Almighty it will come! Is 13:7 Therefore all hands will be feeble, and every human heart will melt. Is 13:8 They will be dismayed: pangs and agony will seize them; they will be in anguish like a woman in labor. They will look aghast at one another; their faces will be aflame. Is 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.
