#36 Eight Instructions for Christian Life
I am Fred Myers the founder of For the Fathers Ministry, and this is Faith by the Numbers.
Count your way to wisdom in number thirty-six of this series, Eight Instructions for Christian Life.
How do you see God’s rules for life? Do you see them as so rigorous that you cannot enjoy yourself? Given that the Bible tells all Christians that God’s commands are forever and given that Christians know they will have eternal life, do you not see that these same commands will stand throughout eternity. God’s rules are righteous, and God gives them not as a burden, but as a blessing. Paul and Peter give a clear picture of obedience. Peter gives the introductory instructions for all Christianity.
1 Pe 1:14 As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance…
Paul then gives a list in Ephesians 5.2-5 the things that make for a blessed life.
Eight Instructions for Christian Life:
- Walk in love
- No sexual immorality
- No Impurity
- No covetousness
- No filthiness
- No foolish talk
- No crude jokes
- Let there be thanksgiving
This will not be the last time you see these instructions for a blessed life. These commands will stand forever because God has given us what is good.

It is my prayer that many will count their way to wisdom through this series and find the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Eph 5:4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving…
