Are We Too Busy For The Truth?

I have spent the last week studying other Christian websites. The Christian world is a very busy place. People have come up with every idea and name for a website that there is. If you are starting a new Christian site or blog, you will have to be very creative in order to come up with something that makes sense and has not already been taken.

But there is a glaring deficiency…teaching. What at first glance seems like teaching is generally topical content about the Christian life, not an actual Biblical study of the scriptures.

There are independent sites and Church sites that are looking to sign up young Christians for all kinds of endeavors, but generally community service or missionary work somewhere in the world. They have classes on the destination country and they are trained in how the organization carries the Gospel, such as music, skits, movies, or one-to-one witnessing. Some witnessing and salvation scriptures are taught, but as far as the ability to know the Bible not much is done.

We are not going to escape the consequences of all of this busyness and no real teaching. Once all of the well known stories in the Bible are taught, then Biblical understanding is not that important anymore. The Christian world is content to let everyone have their own view of the Bible. As with moral relativism, you can have your truth if I can have mine. What moral relativism is to the secular world, Biblical relativism is to the Christian world. Truth is as misunderstood in Church as it is in the world.
