God in His infinite wisdom has chosen to classify certain sins. Now sin is sin and no sin can enter Heaven, but there is information in the Bible that God has a divine difference in how He sees certain sins. There is one in particular that God classifies in this certain way.
The Bible states that all of our sins are classified as outside of the body, but sexual sin is classified as different from all other sins. This sin is classified as in the body.
Exactly what the difference is and how God will treat the two is not told in scripture, but God wanted each of us to know that there is a difference.
1Cor6.15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
1Cor6.19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?
Even though there is no specific information on the difference of sin outside the body versus sin inside the body; I think that there is some insight in the scriptures that can be found. “The two will become one flesh.” is a strong statement. The following verse depicts that when we violate our bodies with sexual sin outside of marriage we are joining that act with the Holy Spirit, (do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you?). When two Christians are engaging in sexual sin outside of marriage the Holy Spirit is there with them and not only are the two violating their own bodies, but the Holy Spirit is there being violated as well. This is not a pretty picture; certainly not one of pleasure as it might have been first thought.
