Here is the first reference in the Bible that speaks to teaching and raising children:

Gen18.19 For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him.” The only way God can give you and your children what He has promised is if you raise your children in God’s word.

How often should we teach our children?

Deut 6.7You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

What is a father promised by God?

Proverbs22.6Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

What is a father’s reward?

Proverbs23.24The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.
