I have been out of town and without internet access, therefore during this last week I was unable to post the daily blog. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and today I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.
Each New Year brings a new beginning and we all hope that some of our plans will work out. In talking about the New Year with my son, I asked him to make a plan for what he plans to do this year for God’s kingdom. Life is busy and it just goes by.
We have the keys to our house and the keys to our car
The keys to our job and we plan to go far
Then a big ring of keys for all that is left
But none of us hold the key to our death
Life just passes us by and it is over too soon
Until we are down to a bed in one little room
When all that we have won’t buy us a thing
What good are the keys that hang on the ring
There is no master lock and no master key
To buy for the door that sets our soul free
We sell for a song what was brought for a price
A cross and crown hold the key to our life
What do you plan to do for God’s Kingdom this year? Is it different from last year, or was last year enough? What was the very best thing that you had happen last year? Do you still owe God for it this year?
One of my blessings was getting to baptize my son this past year and this is only one of God’s many blessings for the year 2012. What is the price for having my son in Heaven with me? You can see that I am already deep in debt for last year. My plan this year is to try to pay off last year even though I know I can’t. My only choice is to put myself into slavery for I could never earn enough. God count me as a bondservant.
